One of travel's great pleasures is a river cruise through the heart of Europe and this two part travelogue follows the Danube and the Rhine through some of the continents most storied cities. Part one begins in Budapest, a city steeped in history. Then travel up the Danube to Vienna and experience the imperial grandeur of that city along with its impressive musical history.
The second part of the travelogue begins in the German city of Passau then cruises across Germany stopping at charming towns like Bamberg, as well as, historical cities like Heidelberg and Nuremberg. The program ends in the Netherlands, where windmills, canals, and the Golden Age of Dutch painting provides a magnificent conclusion. This is European civilization experienced at its most gracious - from a deck chair, with a glass of wine in hand.
